Frank Clay, Jr. has been associated with the business community since the early 1970’s. He has current business experience as a successful business owner-entrepreneur for the last 10 years as the founder of The ClayGroup, LLC which is a Service Disable Veteran Owned Business that distributes janitorial and sanitation solutions to over 100 VA Medical Centers across the country working with companies like Georgia Pacific, Gojo, and Clorox. Mr. Clay has 13 year of corporate business experience working as a corporate executive and sales planning manager for Johnson and Johnson Medical/Patient Care promoting new and innovative products and servicing hospital systems on the east coast and in the mid-west.
As a consultant Mr. Clay spoke on business leadership with Skillpath Seminars for number of years and consulted independently as trouble shooter, recruiter, turn-a-round specialist for multiple local small companies in the Kansas area. Mr. Clay continues to privately mentor, coach and consult with small and Veteran owned businesses. Mr. Clay is certified to teach the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation’s First Step FastTrac program and he teaches his own proprietary business program called “Right To The Point Seminars”.
In the military, Mr. Clay rose from the rank of Private First Class, as a Legal Clerk, to the rank of Captain, as a Headquarters’ Battery Commander in the Maryland National Guard. Mr. Clay was featured on the front cover of Soldier’s magazine during OCS (Officer Candidate School). His undergraduate degree in Business Administration was obtained at Towson University in 1976 and he later achieved his graduate degree in Business Administration at Central Michigan University in 1982 after leaving the U.S. Army full time.
Mr. Clay has traveled for business internationally and has visited countries like China, Hong Kong, England, France, Venezuela, Guinea (Africa), Canada, Mexico, and all the Caribbean.
His motto is very simple… “Press On…” which is the title of his first book of poetry and it is found in the scriptures: Philippians 3:14… “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” Mr. Clay is the author of three self-published books.
